I created Real Life Chic in 2011 as a fashion and beauty blog. I love beautiful clothes, decor, hair, makeup, shoes, music, etc. It’s all art! Of that, I am a lover. I’d visit fashion blogs, but they were either all about celebrities or designer brands.
I wanted to showcase every day, personal style and ideas. I married my love of writing to this concept, and Real Life Chic was born. I bought a web template, wrote several stories and prepared to launch. Unfortunately, I had way too many technical difficulties–I don’t know HTML code. Slowly, and with the help of a friend, I started to get it together, but never could work out the kinks.
In the midst of all this, I became pregnant, and my focus shifted. After my son was born, I started writing about my experience as a first-time mother on my blog Baby Blue Line. Real Life Chic was never far from my mind, however.
I felt limited in the concept. I wasn’t really wanting to do a blog that was just about fashion. So, I relaunched Real Life Chic as a lifestyles blog.
Real Life Chic went live at midnight on Friday, January 18, 2013.
